Cup and Couch: Restaurant Review
This homely café (located below Citadines Al Salamah Hotel on Al Yamamah street As Salamah District) is owned by friendly young Saudis, and very suitable for a group of friends to mingle, as its atmosphere is very casual.
The restaurant has two sections, downstairs is for single men, and upstairs is designed for families, but beware that there is only a spiral staircase and no elevator provided, so it is not exactly wheelchair accessible in the family section. Ambience-wise, it is very enjoyable and designed to resemble someone’s living room, and even my friend’s young enjoyed their time and left us to chat in peace and kept busy playing one of the many board games that the coffee shop owners made available to their customers.

This is of course first and foremost a specialty coffee shop and roastery, and although they have different types of coffee, they always recommend the Kalita coffee, which one kind of several techniques used by specialty coffee shops, as they have recommended it to me in both visits I have been there, and rather enjoyed it every time.
I liked that they know what’s their strength and is sticking with it, but if you are more into Chemex (which usually results in the lighter brew), then just ask them to brew it that way. As for milk based coffee, I tried their coffee latte, and it was very good too, and if you are the adventurous type, try it with coconut milk. I did, and it was rather refreshing. The one thing that I would like them to improve is their food offerings. I have been there twice as I said, but their cakes and snacks never impressed me, except their date cake. You can also go there just to enjoy a cup of coffee with friends and family
